It used to be 2 energy loss at 16 prot and 1 at 17. Now it is 2 at 17(I think).

I went out and casted Protective Bond 10 times, and I should have gotten 2 at least twice. I always had 3 engery loss per hit.

E/Mo can still neutralize the engery loss however: Ether Renewal + Essence Bond + Balthazar's Spirit.

Me = Monk... never did the solo thing though... for two reason. Firstly, I could never be bothered to go and buy the runes. Second, Europe never seems to have favor of the Gods . Anyhow, you can't just wipe out the whole solo monk build by editing one skill by one point... there's fixes. And also, don't complain that there's no monks... when I do go in groups I still get them telling me to heal them... that is one reason why I would rather go solo, just to not have some idiot going "WTF? HEAL FFS!" every 5 secs .

The reality is that with any harder mission or opposing team in PvP you are primarily dependant on a monk for success. Try doing Thirsty River or Thunderkeep without decent healers :P Also healing yourself is a sign that your party is not functioning to it full potential, as a monk is by far the most efficient healer and should be doing the healing. If you are healing yourself then you are obviously not doing whatever else you were meant to be doing, and dragging the party down (assuming the monk(s) is competent enough to enough to heal/protect you effectively).

Thumbs down

If I want to play the game solo... I should be able to... If I want to farm uw bms who are they to tell me different?

IMHO I think they should let me play the game that I purchased the way I want to play it. Not dictating my every move. They can change the game to mold it any way they see fit and then they will be left with a movie.

I have 800 hours of time spent on a game that was meant not to spend allot of time on to get anywhere. I just got my solo build built when the change happened. Yes I did a cookie cutter build as it worked. I did not have to spend hours offline researching and scratching down a patented code onto paper.

I am at a point where it is getting rather boring now that I cannot farm. With empty promises of a "Summer Update", I've completed the game 8 times. There are too many children on the game now and you cannot play in groups anyway. If I need to do a mission I grab henchies so I can rely on them and not have to hear the constant bitching pr deal with them dropping.

PVP is useless... So you get a team together and jump in to try it out. You have people in there that have PVPed since day one and they dust you the minute the gates open. Using the best armor equipped with superior runes, weapons, and shields that only money can buy. Oh wait... no, it is "faction".

I am just about over it and am looking into Everquest and WOW... Funny I never agreed with pay for play. But at least I may be able to enjoy playing.

I simply wish they would just leave me alone...

If you buy this game with no desire whatsoever to play PvP and can't understand that after 800 hours of playing PvE you are going to run out of stuff to do at no fault of the game then yes, perhaps a MMORPG or something like Dungeon Siege 2 is more up to your speed.

Guild Wars is not a great game if you play it in spite of it being balanced (IE: Level 20 Cap, Standardized Gear) around PvP. If you can't embrace both modes of play being interconnected, you will have problems.

Oh, don't get me wrong there bud... I have the utmost desire to play. The fact of the matter is that I am not one of the millions that have played this game from day one and know all the in's and out's as others have. I cannot afford the finer things in the game to build the ultimate fighter with the superior Vigor and Absorbtion.

I have to rely on my farming abilities to gather popular items that people want. So I can sell them for 2-5k each, as not to plague the market with unfair pricing, so I can unlock or for that matter utilize the necessary gear needed to battle period.

Anet seems to have an issue with that... I just ask that they let me do what I do so I can PVP.

Granted my warrior is almost ready to enter the arena... but the key word is almost.

You mention unbalanced... How is it that they can raise the armor of a lvl 20 pet in PVP/PVE and not give you any faction for the kill? That is just like saying that you can only get credit for killing 3 out of 4 in a battle. I killed it I should get the credit for the kill. Don't even get me started on the "Teen" thing...

Just my 2 cents,

I can empathize with that. I do agree that it should be easier for people to get their feet wet when it comes to getting start for PvP. However, don't worry about Superior Runes that much. They are no doubt better, but you do not instantly ruin any team you join without them. You should play this weekend and buy them with faction if you are able to make a PvP character.

I can see that being an issue too. I'm sorry I didn't read your post closely enough and mistook you for riding off PvP like a lot of people tend to.

Pets aren't really a 5th member in 4v4, they're more like a remote AI controlled source of DPS. You should be focusing on human controlled characters, anyhow.

i realy dont see what all the crying and whining is about, so what if people want to solo farm, the way guild wars is built means that framing doesnt affect other players drops in an area because unlike other mmorpgs the main gaming/play areas dont have other players in other than any team you may or may not be with, yeah i have a lvl 19 smite/prot build which im hoping to do some solo runs but i also have a level 20 ele, necro and warrior. as for a quote in an earlier post saying gw shouldnt be played solo what a crock of shit, gw can be played any way each individual wants to i myself have completed the game with my ele either solo or using henchies due to the number of idiots who drop out mid quest just cos things dont go there way. seems most of the complainers are those that have never thought about building an invinci monk until the build became public knowledge and as for a net nerfing the build just because prot bond has been altered ( along with numerous other skills across every char) doesnt mean there arent a dozen other builds that can be made and half the challenge is to experiment and get the best out of whatever char you create. as regards to complaining about groups of monks standing around discussing there build and not playin... big deal if you need a monk to play the game you are playing the game wrong, every char is capable of making a build thats pretty much unbeatable if its backed up with a decent team, ive completed fow 11 times now and id say at least 4 of those times were without primary monks. maybe if you learned how to play with what you had and quit the complaining you might actually enjoy the game more

Well it's possible to Solo UW as a War. That's what I do. Moniko Evoleht, some have already heard of me. They didn't do anything to Warrios to make it difficult. Guess because I don't go out telling the world my Build, less people know it and so not many solo UW as Warrior like me. (W/Me) btw.

I once owned a nerf gun and shot at a guy in church. So you could say Anet copied me by 'nerfing the monk'.
